Just found that the name “Pakisthan” was really an acronym while reading Freedom at Midnight.
Pakisthan was formed using (P)unjab, (A)fghania, (K)ashmir, (S)indh, and Baluchis(tan)”. The letter i was incorporated to ease pronunciation and form the linguistically correct and meaningful name. Reference
